Video on Demand (VOD) streaming instructions

This is a confirmation that the streaming site has been registered to the Aflexi system. Before activating the site, a CNAME entry will need to be added to the domain hostname records. 

  1. Contact the domain registrar or webhost to insert new CNAME entry to the domain.
  2. Insert <the streaming site's URL> IN CNAME to hostname below to the registrar or copy the line to the webhost to add into the domain zone file:
  • <Unique ID number of the streaming site>.r.<Operator's CNAME URL, by default it is Aflexi's CNAME URL at afxcdn.net>
  1. Our system checks for CNAME updates every 15 minutes, once it has been validated, please continue with the following instructions.
  2. Upload the audio or video to ftp://ftp.<Operator's CNAME URL as above, or the default afxcdn.net>/<unique streaming site ID number as above>. The FTP login is the publisher's unique ID and the password is the portal password. (Uploaded files will be distributed through the CDN every 10 minutes)

Streaming with Long Tail or other RTMP player(e.g. Adobe Flash player): -

  1. For Long Tail, open the player wizard.
  2. Place the streamer's field value as rtmp://<streaming site URL>/vod-<streaming site's unique ID number like above>  and the filename field value as <filename>.mp4 (e.g. streaming.mp4)
